Tideglass House occupies a quiet clearing behind Comporta’s dunes, where cork oaks lean toward the Atlantic and the horizon is heard before it is seen. The architecture stays deliberately low: a sequence of pale concrete planes, warm cork surfaces and transparent rooms laid parallel to the coast.
At its center, a 22-metre living hall opens on both sides. Morning light arrives through a planted court; evening light reaches across the pool terrace. Sliding panels allow the kitchen, library and fireside lounge to become one continuous social room or a series of quieter chambers.
Five independent suites sit within two shaded wings, each with a private garden threshold. A separate wellness pavilion, discreet service access and a landscape of native grasses make the house practical for long stays while preserving the sense of an untouched coastal refuge.
